Trislander Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Mark 2 1.9tdi Speedo is not working and fuel gauge fluctuates does it need a new sensor?? Quote
SilverBeast Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Were they working after you changed your engine, and have now gone wrong? If I understand correctly it you also changed your ecu. I would guess that speedo and fuel guage MAY take signals from the ecu Quote
Trislander Posted December 7, 2013 Author Report Posted December 7, 2013 Yeah working before engine change I was thinking ECU also Quote
SilverBeast Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 Might be better to keep the problems associated with engine change in the same thread so others can see the joys (pitfalls?) in future. Quote
zorgman Posted December 15, 2013 Report Posted December 15, 2013 faulty earth on multiplug on engine Quote
Trislander Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 Tried disconnecting from ECU and back again but no joyWhat's the next suggestion? Quote
Trislander Posted December 17, 2013 Author Report Posted December 17, 2013 The original ECU is still in Quote
seatkid Posted December 17, 2013 Report Posted December 17, 2013 What zorgman was trying to say ... http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php/topic/16434-19tdi-lost-your-instruments-then-read-this/ Quote
munster_skye Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Hi, I had similar symptoms to yourself and it was because both of the front abs sensors were throwing faults codes. I have 1.9Tdi 2003 and it does Not have a VSS speed sensor on the gearbox. speedo needs one of the front abs sensors to be working. Quote
Trislander Posted December 18, 2013 Author Report Posted December 18, 2013 Interesting..... Changed drivers side about a year ago too Quote
